To reduce forest damage rate, some efforts have been performed. Deforestation in Indonesia can not be performed by any people or companies, but can only performed licensed person or company. Deforestation in Indonesia uses TPI (Indonesia selective felling) system. TPI is a system of
deforestation performed to trees having certain minimum diameter. Other system usually used TPTI (Indonesia selective felling-planting). Based in this system, it is determined that trees permitted to fell down are trees having minimus diameters of 50 cm, with minimal core tree (commercial tree with 20 cm of minimal diameter) at least 25 trees per hectare, and felling rotation is in determined 35 years. Other efforts include afforestation. Afforestation is cultivation of critical field outside of forest.

Other efforts that can be performed to maintain environment is recycling activity. Recycling activities are using used or wasted objects for creating new goods. Wastes can be distinguished into two, namely organic and inorganic wastes. Oeganic waste is waste coming from or related to living organisms like paddy straw, husk, and manure. Inorganic waste is any waste not part of living things, such as paper, plastic, and can.
